Inventory Division

Inventory Division is a way to allocate and group inventory by divisions. For example, retail inventory vs builder inventory, or retail inventory separated by regions. This feature allows you to control what inventory division users get access to view and reserve stock from.

Security and Setup

In user security, under serial inventory, you determine which inventory division the user has access too when in serial maintenance.

You allocate a serial type to an inventory division; in this example, all serial numbers attached to serial type 'Retail’ now belong to ‘1 – Retail Inventory Division’ and will only be accessible by a user with security access to inventory division 1.

Since serial types are set on the invoice type, once you have allocated your serial type to an inventory division and, if the user has security to the sales division and the inventory division, then they will be able to add the models serial with that serial type to that invoice type. Your primary division on the invoice type also needs to be set, in this case to Retail Inventory Division.

Serial Maintenance Screen

Once you have allocated your serial numbers to a serial type and defined which users have access to what inventory divisions, you can arrange your serial inventory maintenance columns to only show the inventory divisions the user has access to.

In this example, the user has access to view both retail and builder inventory divisions.
